I really love large-format photos and putting them on pages, especially for things my family and I have done that I really want to call attention to, or sometimes to sketch as a placeholder for a larger ephemera item. This week's sketch utilizes that larger-format photo and the girls had tons of fun with it, showing how it could be used with standard-sized photos, flipping it, and even turning it into a card!

Simple Sketches # 13
I put out a call for guest designers a couple of weeks ago and the response has been amazing! This week, I feature loyal follower and talented Rebecca Daly and her takes on sketch # 13. She had so much fun with this sketch, she couldn't just create one page, which I'm always happy to see! Welcome to the guest design team, Rebecca!
Here's a little about our featured follower and guest designer:
I have been scrapbooking for about ten years and since the birth of my son (he turned two in October) I take WAY too many pictures and I was finding that I wasn't finding the time to scrap. So this past new year's I made a couple of resolutions, one of them being that I wanted to get a layout a day (or 365 layouts) done by the end of the year (this way I get some me time as well as document all the photos of my son). I started to tell my family and friends about this endeavour and they all wanted to be apart of it so I decided to start a blog so they could follow along on my journey. I am honored that what started with a way of showcasing my creations with family and friends has turned into complete strangers enjoying my work. Since beginning this journey I find that I am growing as an artist and slowly pushing my boundaries to try new things (before tis year the thought of mixed media petrified me and now i use it pretty much on EVERY layout).
And here is Rebecca's take on the sketch:

Simple Sketches # 12
Sketch 12 is coming at you with a special appearance by our Team A's own Bobbi Trost. I am moving this week, and so it was not as easy to get in scrapping time or even computer time to get my own page done. Thanks for helping me out, Bobbi! I really appreciate it. In the meantime, I love what this week's team came up with using # 12 as their inspiration. We have a card and lots of fun techniques that take the circle into account. Please be sure to leave the girls a comment and let them know what you love about their takes!

Simple Sketches # 11
Sketch 11 comes to you with lots of different variations on the inspiration it provided! Lots of fun techniques, and even a 3-page spread were all used to bring this sketch to life by the design team. This week also features a special appearance from our own Lee Thompson, who is visiting the odd numbered team as a fill in. Thanks for your extra, hard work, Lee! It is greatly appreciated!

Simple Sketches # 10
This week's sketch shows us 4 pictures in 2 different sizes. We all get stuck in a rut where we only use one size, and I always forget that you can scrap more than one size, as well, even when designing my sketches! Not only do we have a great variety of pages and projects to offer this week, ranging from the traditional paper to digital to a card, but we also have a video tutorial by our own Valerie Reyes to show her process for making her page from the sketch. Be sure to check it out and leave her feedback for her hard work!
