Simple Sketches # 17

This week's guest designer is Lisa Peeples! Lisa joins us as our last official guest designer of 2013. Next team A sketch will reveal our new replacement for the rest of this term. I bet you are all excited to meet her!

Hi! My name is Lisa Peeples and I was super excited to be invited to guest design for Simple Sketches. Melissa is a friend that I met online through our passion for scrapping and I have loved using her sketches. I started scrapbooking shortly after my oldest son was born 16 years ago. My style has definitely evolved over the years. I would classify myself as having mostly a clean, simple style. I like trying my hand at new techniques and love to use all kinds of different embellishments, inks and my new favorite, washi tape. I have recently delved into the mixed media world and am trying to build my confidence in off the page projects. It's funny that I have never seen myself as having any artistic talent whatsoever and am only recently seeing that I can push myself to express my creativity in different ways. When I am not scrapbooking I am very busy being a wife to my sweet husband David. We just celebrated twenty years this last summer. I am also a mother to Nathan, who is turning sixteen on Monday and beginning to drive (YIKES!) and Chris, my fourteen year old who adds humor to our lives in droves. I have stayed home with them since Nathan was born and have only recently began to substitute teach a few days a week. I love to cook and am lucky enough to have a son who enjoys cooking and watching Food Network with me. I would love for you to take time to visit my blog at

And without further adieu, here is sketch 17 and all of the beautiful pages it inspired!

Simple Sketches # 16

This week's Simple Sketches sketch is a quick and easy layout for those 4x6 photos you may have lying around! I know I do. Or, you can change the sizes to meet your needs, add or take away photos--whatever tickles your fancy! This week's team really created some beautiful pages with this sketch and we can't wait to see yours... Make sure to share your page at the inLinkz at the bottom of this post!

Simple Sketches # 15

This week's guest designer on Simple Sketches, introducing Sketch 15, is Debbie Piercey!

Hi, my name is Debbie Piercey. I live in sunny Arizona with my hubby of 35 years, our son, and his three daughters. I have been scrapbooking since around 1999 and it is what keeps me sane. I love playing with paper and glue and creating something pretty. I am pleased to be a Guest Designer at Simple Sketches. I love to play along whenever I get the chance.

Simple Sketches # 14

I really love large-format photos and putting them on pages, especially for things my family and I have done that I really want to call attention to, or sometimes to sketch as a placeholder for a larger ephemera item. This week's sketch utilizes that larger-format photo and the girls had tons of fun with it, showing how it could be used with standard-sized photos, flipping it, and even turning it into a card!

Simple Sketches # 13

I put out a call for guest designers a couple of weeks ago and the response has been amazing! This week, I feature loyal follower and talented Rebecca Daly and her takes on sketch # 13. She had so much fun with this sketch, she couldn't just create one page, which I'm always happy to see! Welcome to the guest design team, Rebecca!

Here's a little about our featured follower and guest designer:

I have been scrapbooking for about ten years and since the birth of my son (he turned two in October) I take WAY too many pictures and I was finding that I wasn't finding the time to scrap. So this past new year's I made a couple of resolutions, one of them being that I wanted to get a layout a day (or 365 layouts) done by the end of the year (this way I get some me time as well as document all the photos of my son). I started to tell my family and friends about this endeavour and they all wanted to be apart of it so I decided to start a blog so they could follow along on my journey. I am honored that what started with a way of showcasing my creations with family and friends has turned into complete strangers enjoying my work. Since beginning this journey I find that I am growing as an artist and slowly pushing my boundaries to try new things (before tis year the thought of mixed media petrified me and now i use it pretty much on EVERY layout).

And here is Rebecca's take on the sketch:

And the rest of our team had great fun with this sketch, as well!

Simple Sketches # 12

Sketch 12 is coming at you with a special appearance by our Team A's own Bobbi Trost. I am moving this week, and so it was not as easy to get in scrapping time or even computer time to get my own page done. Thanks for helping me out, Bobbi! I really appreciate it. In the meantime, I love what this week's team came up with using # 12 as their inspiration. We have a card and lots of fun techniques that take the circle into account. Please be sure to leave the girls a comment and let them know what you love about their takes!
